Reverent One is a prayer 20 years in the making. I saw this Salvador Dali painting, Crucifixion (Corpus Hypercubus) and cried. From this single image I discovered the power of art. If I were to describe in words what happened and why, I would say that I encountered God, through an image of Christ, that redefined my understanding of faith and the world, as well as placed within my heart a longing to behold him forever.
Fast forward two decades, and that moment of personal desire has now become a prayer to see a movement take place in Southern California and beyond, known as Reverent One. An art community made up of generational and culturally diverse people who are a gospel-centered, Spirit empowered coalition of artists, churches, organizations, patrons, and public that seek to encounter God through the art of worship.
